Showcase home above Weirs opens on Sat.
Boys & Girls Club of Lakes Region will benefit from tours through Oct. 19
The New Hampshire Showhouse 2009 opened high above the Weirs on Thursday evening with a private gala event, and on Saturday, Sept. 19 it will open for public tours. Those who view it will see the work of New Hampshire's best designers, see some of the best furnishings available for local purchase and be inspired to renovate their own homes. Along the way, they'll also benefit the Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region, which will receive an injection of funds thanks to the event.
The first New Hampshire Showhouse was held last year in Meredith. This year, the organizers were contacted by the developers of Meredith Bay, who are building high-end homes on Laconia's Brickyard Mountain overlooking The Weirs and Lake Winnipesaukee. They were invited to use the developers' largest spec home, a 4,885 Adirondack-style home positioned to make optimal use of the lot's views.
