Custom Home on Homesite 127
We’re breaking ground on another Ganzey model! You can follow the construction process of this beautiful custom home on Homesite 127 below.
CURRENT CONSTRUCTION STAGE:
FOUNDATION BACKFILL
JANUARY 8, 2021
A higher foundation wall will naturally require additional fill to bring the outside levels of this custom home to the first floor. It’s not just a matter of dropping the fill around the home; the structural backfill needs to be placed and compacted where needed. For example, under decks, porches, and steps to minimize the potential for settlement. After that, other fill areas are carefully graded to ensure that water flows away from the foundation, minimizing the potential for erosion and concentrated water runoff.
The boulders and rocks for the retaining walls were sourced from the on-site ledge blasting.
FOUNDATION POUR
JANUARY 5, 2021
The homeowners requested an increase in the height of the foundation so that they can make the most out of the beautiful lake views this homesite has to offer.
EXCAVATION
DECEMBER 16, 2020
We removed huge boulders from this homesite to prepare it for the foundation. This wasn’t a small task — but it was worth it!
The stones will be used in the landscaping process to build retaining walls to allow for even better views of the lake. We will be building a natural stone wall surrounding the walkout area of this custom home that will set the stage for a gorgeous outdoor entertainment area!
