The Marketplace is home to 11 distinct stores, 5 restaurants, and the brick walkways take you through beautiful gardens, past a 40-foot waterfall…all with a view of Lake Winnipesaukee.

If you’re looking to give your home a little facelift, there are a few places to key on here: Oglethorpes, Cozy Cabin Rustics, and The League of NH Craftsmen Gallery located across the street in front of Church Landing. Each store offers uniquely different home goods ranging from hand blown glass pieces to rustic custom-made furniture and accessories, a substantial number of which are cultivated from local artists and made in the United States! Heading to a cocktail party and in need of a hostess gift? The staff at Oglethorpes is more than happy to grab the item and have it waiting for you at the cash register.

For those that were unable to make the trip up to Meredith Bay with you, Country Carriage and the Great Northern Trading Company have a slew of goodies that will temper the sting of being left out of the lakeside fun! Country Carriage is deemed a “sophisticated country” store and is chockfull of new and fun merchandise. They carry the much loved and familiar brands—Yankee candle, Very Bradley, and Stonewall Kitchen, as well as some locally sourced items! The Great Northern Trading Company will give those back home a feel for what they missed! With items like cozy sweatshirts and kids pajamas, this store truly embodies the casual life style of Lake Winnipesaukee and its surrounding towns.

For the rainy days, the Innisfree Bookshop and The Guest House (a creative studio) offer some good old-fashioned relief from cabin fever. The staff at Innisfree will help you hone in on a novel of interest and have a great section that is composed of staff picks; they love to share their knowledge and experience with you. With a variety of other items such as greeting cards, toys, games, music, and magazines one could get lost for hours! Across the way in the main building, The Guest House is home to a great beading studio. In its warm and inviting atmosphere, you can sit and create your own pieces with the help of the expert staff or simply browse the beautiful designs.

With so many options, and such a great location, it makes for a great little day trip for the girls (there are more than enough restaurants, as well as one of the best bait and tackle stores in the area, to keep the gentlemen occupied!). If you have exhausted the Mills Falls Shops, Meredith also has some great antique shops, clothing stores, and other unique places to shop right on Main Street!
