The foundation crew is setting the forms and pulling utilities through to complete the basement floor. And yes, work continues through the winter, snow and all!
Once the foundation starts to be poured it must be finished for an even ‘seasoning’ of the concrete, even as night sets in. Four concrete trucks took part in the delivery for this home — it was a very busy day on this cul-de-sac!
LOT CLEARING

We started the excavation on homesite 110 in the late fall. The process began with the removal of trees and staking of the ‘pins’ for the corners of the home which designates the layout of the foundation. This lot was especially fun to watch as the trees came down and it opened up the beautiful view towards the town of Meredith, Lake Winnipesaukee, and the White Mountains.
In the pictures below, you’ll see the excavator hammering the ledge in order to be able to dig the foundation hole. Meredith Bay is in the Granite State after all, and we certainly have our fair share of ledge. Hammering is an option to loosen the stone but if all else fails, a bit of dynamite to blast the ledge is the way to go!
