As summer fast approaches, so do the many fair and festivals in the Lakes Region. Whether you like arts & crafts, agriculture, or anything in between, there are plenty of events to choose from! A great way to kick off the first day of summer is the Summer Solstice Craft Festival on the Plains on June 21st and 22nd in Kingston, N.H. This festival is a great activity for the whole family with over 75 booths selling crafts and food. The best part? It’s free for all!
In July, the 25th Annual Craft Fair at the Bay is a big hit among fair-goers in the Lakes Region. This event, a longstanding tradition, takes place on July 12th and 13th this year – so mark your calendars! The fair brings together artists from all across New England who will be exhibiting their work, ranging from arts & crafts to paintings & sculptures. Plus – there are specialty food booths and live music that you don’t want to miss! Located in Alton Bay, this fair is an awesome way to spend a summer weekend with family and friends. August offers up several popular fairs and festivals that have a little something for everyone in your family. On the 2nd, Attitash Mountain Resort hosts its BLUEBERRYfest, which will feature cornhole tournaments and blueberry pie baking and eating contests. You can also explore the many craft booths, enjoy delicious BBQ specialties, and dance along to live music by The Dean Machine. Bring the whole family for a day of endless fun in the sun! Free admission includes access to the craft fair and live music.
One of the biggest craft events of summer is the 22nd Annual Lincoln Summer Craft Festival. Held on August 9th and 10th on Main Street in Lincoln, N.H, the festival will feature artists from more than 15 states exhibiting their unique American crafts and specialty foods. Some of the choice food items include spices, herb dips, candies, roasted nuts, kettle corn and even homemade jams and jellies. There will also be great live music on the Town Green! This event offers free admission and parking.
On August 23rd and 24th, the 35th Lakes Region Fine Arts and Crafts Festival will draw people from all over New England to historic Meredith, N.H. Join the over 80 artists who will convene on Main Street to exhibit their pottery, leather goods, quilts, toys, jewelry and much more! This festival will offer entertainment for the entire family, including games and live music. Plus – there will be several food booths where you can enjoy a snack or meal on the town docks. This event is a summer favorite among locals, so it is not to be missed! Meredith Bay residents can take a short drive or bike ride into town for a full day of family fun!
